Inside This Session:
Litigation involves a complex series of steps - and paralegals are key players at every stage. This seminar walks through the full litigation process and explains the vital support paralegals provide in civil, criminal, and administrative cases.
Participants will learn how civil and criminal litigation differ, and what steps are involved in filing, defending, and resolving each type of case. We'll map out the lifecycle of a civil case from the initial complaint through trial, as well as explore how cases proceed before administrative agencies and through alternative dispute resolution methods like mediation and arbitration.
You’ll also gain insight into the specific responsibilities paralegals take on during pretrial preparation, trial support, post-trial enforcement, and even appeals. Whether organizing discovery, drafting pleadings, or helping enforce judgments, paralegals play a critical role in keeping the litigation process running smoothly.
